A monastery island in the bay, reached by boat from the port.
The only inhabited island on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast is part of Burgas itself: a rock in the bay with a church, a former monastery, a lighthouse and a restaurant. It has been a monastery, a prison and a museum in turn.
Boats run from the passenger terminal at the port. The crossing is short, the island is small, and an hour or two covers it comfortably.
