Book early and book flexible. Host cities fill months out, and rates for contest week are set by the market, not by us — we publish none. This page tells you which part of the coast to aim for, how long it takes to reach the arena from each of them, and names properties that verifiably exist.

Pick the area first

The pedestrian centre

Around Bogoridi and Aleksandrovska. Everything on foot: trains, the bus stops for the coast, restaurants, and the Sea Garden at the end of the street. The right choice if you want to walk home after a show.

On foot
Sea Garden in 5–10 minutes on foot
To Arena Burgas
10–15 minutes by taxi or city bus
Best for
First-timers, and anyone without a car

Along the Sea Garden

Quieter, greener, a few minutes further out, with the park and the beach immediately below. Fewer beds here, so they go first.

On foot
Beach in 2–5 minutes on foot
To Arena Burgas
10 minutes by taxi
Best for
A short stay where the view matters

The wider city

The residential districts — Lazur, Izgrev, Slaveykov, Meden Rudnik — where most apartment rentals are. Cheaper, well served by city buses, and perfectly normal to stay in.

On foot
Centre in 10–20 minutes by bus
To Arena Burgas
10–20 minutes by bus, depending on the district
Best for
Groups and longer stays on a budget

Sarafovo and the airport

A former fishing village that is now the city's northern seaside suburb, right beside Burgas Airport. Its own beach, its own promenade and fish restaurants, and the shortest possible transfer if you are flying in and out.

On foot
Own beach on the doorstep
From Burgas
About 10 km north of the centre
To Arena Burgas
15–20 minutes by taxi
Bus
City bus line to the centre, roughly every half hour
Taxi
Roughly €8–12 to the centre, metered estimate
Best for
Early flights and quiet nights

Pomorie

Twenty minutes up the coast on its salt spit: a real town rather than a resort, with a long beach, spa hotels built on the mineral water, and prices well under the city centre.

On foot
Beach and old town on foot
From Burgas
About 20 km north of Burgas
To Arena Burgas
25–30 minutes by car
Bus
Frequent intercity buses, about 30 minutes
Taxi
Roughly €15–20 one way, metered estimate
Best for
Spa hotels at coast prices

Sunny Beach and Nessebar

The largest bed supply on the Bulgarian coast by a wide margin — tens of thousands of rooms in one strip, with the UNESCO old town of Nessebar at its southern end. Loud, cheap and open late. In May much of it is only just waking up, so check that your hotel is actually operating.

On foot
Beach on the doorstep; Nessebar old town 10 minutes by bus
From Burgas
About 35 km north-east of Burgas
To Arena Burgas
40–50 minutes by car in normal traffic
Bus
Buses every 20–40 minutes in season, about 45 minutes
Taxi
Roughly €30–40 one way, metered estimate
Best for
Availability, nightlife and low rates

Sozopol

The prettiest base on this coast: a wooden old town on a headland, with modern hotel districts at Harmanite and Kavatsite behind it. Smaller than Sunny Beach, more expensive per night, considerably nicer to come back to.

On foot
Old town and two beaches on foot
From Burgas
About 35 km south of Burgas
To Arena Burgas
40 minutes by car
Bus
Buses roughly hourly from the south bus station, about 45 minutes
Taxi
Roughly €28–38 one way, metered estimate
Best for
Atmosphere, and a quieter contest week

The southern coast

Primorsko, Kiten, Lozenets and the villages beyond them: hundreds of small hotels and apartments an hour or more from the arena, at the lowest rates on the coast. Only sensible with a car, and only if you are relaxed about the commute.

On foot
Beaches on the doorstep
From Burgas
50–95 km south of Burgas
To Arena Burgas
1 h to 1 h 40 by car
Bus
Intercity buses from the south bus station, less frequent in May
Taxi
€35–90 one way depending how far south, metered estimate
Best for
The lowest rates, if you have a car

Booking safely

escburgas.com sells nothing and earns nothing from these links. Always book through the property or a platform you trust, and never by bank transfer to a private account.

Times are for normal traffic. The coast road between Burgas and Sunny Beach backs up badly on summer evenings, and contest nights will empty the arena all at once — add a margin, and know the time of the last bus before you rely on it.

Some booking links on this page are affiliate links. If you book through them we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you, and it never changes what we recommend.
