Burgas is not a city that had to invent a music scene for Eurovision. It has run a national song festival since 1973, it has a 2,150-seat open-air theatre in the middle of its seafront park, an opera company that performs on an island, and a beach that has held some of the biggest festivals in the Balkans. Here is what plays here, and where the contest week will sit on top of it.
Open since 1957 and still the heart of the city's summer: a covered stage and a raked auditorium under the park's trees, a few minutes from the beach. It hosts the Burgas and the Sea song festival, the Emil Chakarov music festival and the international folklore festival.
Opened in 2023 and the largest room in the city, built for international sport, concerts and full-scale live productions. It is the venue for all three Eurovision 2027 shows.

State Opera Bourgas
Opera Hall, city centre
A full company with its own orchestra and ballet, playing a normal season indoors and then moving outside in summer — including concerts on St Anastasia island and in the amphitheatre at Sozopol.
The park's glass exhibition hall doubles as a chamber-concert venue, used by the opera and by visiting ensembles through the year.

Magazia 1, Port Burgas
Port Burgas, beside the station
A working port warehouse reworked into a cultural space: exhibitions, gigs and late nights, three minutes' walk from the train station. Bulgaria's most obvious candidate for a contest-week club venue.

City beach bars
Burgas Central Beach and north along the coast
From May the beach bars reopen with DJ sets from late afternoon into the night, running up the shoreline towards Sarafovo and, half an hour on, the big Sunny Beach clubs.
The festival calendar
Burgas and the Sea (Бургас и морето)
Late July / early August, every year · Summer Theatre, Sea Garden
The city's own pop song festival and competition, founded in 1973 and organised by the municipality — the longest-running music event on this coast, and the reason Burgas already knows how to stage a song contest.
Ran 2008–2013 and 2015 — not currently held · Southern end of Burgas beach
For a few years one of the biggest festivals in Europe, three days of rock, dance and hip-hop directly on the sand. It is over, but it is the proof that this beach can hold a festival crowd — and the site is still there.
Nightlife runs along three lines: the café strip on Bogoridi towards the beach, the reworked port quarter by the station, and the beach bars that stretch north from the city. Bars in the centre stay busy until 02:00; the coast keeps going past sunrise in season.
And in May 2027
Afternoons — the fan zone
Eurovision host cities run a free open-air village with live broadcasts and local acts. In Burgas the Sea Garden's Summer Theatre and the surrounding park are the natural site. Not announced yet.
Evenings — the shows
Doors at Arena Burgas open roughly two hours before broadcast; all three live shows start at 21:00 CEST, which is 22:00 in Burgas.
Nights — the club
The official EuroClub is the accredited afterparty, and the port warehouses by the station are the strongest candidate. Expect unofficial fan parties along Bogoridi either way.
Late — the beach
In mid-May the beach bars are already open. Sunrise over the Black Sea is around 06:10 — the traditional end to a Eurovision night here.
