The city's front room: a kilometre of shaded paths above the beach.

Burgas laid out its Sea Garden in 1891, and it still works the way a good park should — everyone ends up in it. Plane trees and cypresses run parallel to the water, benches face the bay, and the paths drop down to the sand every few hundred metres.

It is the obvious meeting point during contest week: central, free, open all night, and big enough that it never feels full. Come early for the light, come late for the evening walk the whole city takes.
