A World Heritage old town on a rock, half an hour up the coast.
Nessebar's old town sits on a small peninsula joined to the mainland by a causeway: wooden houses on stone bases, medieval churches in brick and stone, and the sea at the end of every lane.
It is on the UNESCO World Heritage list and it is busy for good reason. Go early or late in the day and the streets belong to you again.
