A market town under the hills, half an hour inland.
Aitos is where the Burgas plain meets the hills: a market town with a Thursday market, a wooded park on Slavyanka hill above it, and mineral springs that have been used for a century.
Nobody comes to the coast for Aitos, which is exactly why it is worth half a day — it is an ordinary Bulgarian town going about its business.
