Lakes and birds
Poda Protected Area
A small wetland south of the port with a hide and a conservation centre.
Poda is a narrow strip of lagoon and reedbed between the road and the sea, run as a protected area with a visitor centre and an observation tower. Hundreds of species have been recorded here.
It is the easiest serious birdwatching near the city: purpose-built to look out from, and staffed by people who know what is on the water that week.

- Visiting
- Centre and tower opening times are published by the conservation society
