The last real town before the Turkish border, on a rocky point.
Ahtopol is built on a headland with a working harbour, a lighthouse and the ruins of its old walls. Everything here is smaller and older than the resorts to the north, and the wind off the sea is constant.
The Strandzha mountains start immediately behind the town, so this is where a coast day turns into a mountain one.
